Tree Planting at Huff Creek
October 10, 2025 9:00am- 3pm
Join Sageland Collaborative for hands on riparian habitat restoration to prep a site for future restoration projects. These volunteer events are a fun opportunity to cool off in the late summer heat while making an positive impact on Utah’s waterways.
All ages are welcome. Volunteers under 18 years old require a guardian’s signature and those under 15 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
When: Friday October 10, 2025 9am-3pm
Where: Huff Creek near Coalville, UT (specific meetup details will be shared in a confirmation email following signup).
The project site is located approximately a 1 hour drive from Salt Lake City. Cell service may be spotty, and there is no potable water or restroom facilities at the project site.
What to expect: We will be planting 50 potted aspen and cottonwood trees at a planned Riverscape Restoration project site. We will provide all tools and instruction. The project involves walking up to 1 mile over uneven, often muddy terrain, with stream crossings.
What we'll provide:
A high-quality, fun, and safe volunteer experience
Extra water, snacks, sunscreen & bug spray
Extra safety equipment (work gloves, safety glasses), and a first aid kit
Muck boots/waders in various sizes (W's 5 - M's 13)
Opportunities to learn about riverscape restoration, pollinators, and native plants while connecting with restoration practitioners and community members
Resume-building skills relevant to natural resources careers
Attendees are required to fill out Sageland Collaborative’s Volunteer Liability Form & Waiver in order to participate. Minors must have a guardian sign the waiver on their behalf.
