You're invited to join us for our Utah Pollinator Pursuit and Boreal Toad Project volunteer trainings, coming up in just a month. Join us in welcoming the newest member of our team, Emily (Emm) Clark! As our Avian Ecologist, Emm will lead our efforts on Utah’s portion of the Intermountain West Shorebird Survey. She will also expand the efforts of our cross-hemispheric counterparts through the International Phalarope Working Group.
Announcing Our Western Biodiversity Challenge Winners
Visual artist Robyn Holmes creates place-based paintings that explore relational webs at shifting scales. Holmes won second place in the Visual Art category.
In celebration of the world awakening for spring, we’re excited to honor the artists who received awards in our Western Biodiversity Challenge. Through their work, we reflect on the lives and places that constitute the reason we do what we do.
One winning artist, Caro Nilsson, says, "I like to think about all of the work that I make as a portal into noticing. It is easy to be a human and forget that we are a small part of a vast and alive ecosystem, and through my art I remember."
Your Conservation Impact
You—our volunteers, donors, partners and community—form the bedrock of conservation in the West. Community-gathered data provides the necessary groundwork for our team of experts, land management agencies, and other organizations to direct conservation efforts where they are needed most.

In the News: Shorebirds!
We're excited to share a recent article from Audubon that highlights one of our projects. From the article:
"Max Malmquist stares into the southern edge of Great Salt Lake, his dad at his side, eyes drawn in the same direction. That’s when they spot it: a Snowy Plover. Small and as sandy in color as the dry lakebed beneath it, the bird is difficult to see, but they’ve spotted it, nonetheless..."

Apply for Free Native Pollinator Plants
Applications are now open for the 2024 Utah Pollinator Habitat Program native plant grant!
Selected recipients will receive habitat kits of regionally appropriate high-quality, native plants to expand pollinator habitat across Utah while increasing resource availability for pollinators.
