Sageland Collaborative: Noche de Murcielagos

Latino Conservation Week: Disfrutando y Conservando Nuestra Tierra is an initiative of Hispanic Access Foundation. Latino Conservation Week was created to support the Latinx community getting into the outdoors and participating in activities to protect our natural resources.

During this week many different organizations and agencies hold events throughout the country. Check out all the events going on in Utah below!


Sageland Collaborative is celebrating con un Noche de Murciélagos: a celebratory and educational event focused on Utah's nocturnal wildlife! We will have charlas con biólogos y actividades para toda la familia. Aprenda a como usar equipo para escuchar murciélagos y buscar insectos nocturnos! We will also have community and conservation partners joining us with other activities and resources.

Este evento es gratuito y abierto al público / This event is free and open to the public.

Traer: Linternas / Flashlights. No usamos repelente de insectos, ya que algunas actividades implican observar insectos / Please avoid bug spray since some activities involve looking at insects.

  • SLCC Native Indigenous Student Union in partnership with Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance (SUWA) invites you to a Latino Conservation Week Festival. Become a part of our Latino Conservation Week celebration and help us honor cultures, foster environmental awareness, and encourage community engagement in conservation efforts. Together, we can inspire long-term stewardship of our natural resources. 9/18, 2-8pm. Salt Lake Community College, Taylorsville Redwood Campus.

9/19-9/20 - Stewardship Trips to Moab area hosted by SUWA

  • The Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance is organizing two camp outs as part of Latino Conservation Week on September 19-21.

    1) One will be a Stewardship project that includes camping and rafting! You will be cleaning and repairing areas along the Dolores River.

    2) The other trip will be for those wanting an introductory camping experience or who want to get to know the Moab area. We will be camping in the cool La Sal Mountains and visiting some of the hot, rocky areas of Moab. For more information click here. 

9/20 - Caminata de Aves en Tracy Aviary’s Nature Center at Pia Okwai

9/20 - Fall Garden Fair at Conservation Garden Park

  • Come and celebrate Conservation Garden Park’s 25th Birthday! This FREE event includes: live local music, food trucks, hands-on nature activities and crafts, community partnership booths, waterwise education and more! Registration is required.

9/21 - Documentary Screening at Tracy Aviary at Liberty Park

  • Come to Tracy Aviary and learn about the incredible conservation work being done by our partners in Central and South America! See our birds from around the world and watch amazing documentary films from our partners.
