Mark Brunson, Ph.D.

Mark Brunson is science director for The Nature Conservancy's Canyonlands Research Center in southeastern Utah. He studies how people connect to nature and looks for ways to sustainably manage western landscapes for both biodiversity and human activities. Mark is passionate about connecting science to people who can benefit from it, leading and participating in outreach programs for land managers, university students, and the public about climate adaptation, ecosystem restoration, and the wonders of the natural world. He lives in Cache Valley, where he and his wife, Cheryl, spend as much time as possible looking for birds and wildflowers.
