Thank You, Pollinator Pals!
This year, we were inspired by the ways that our community showed up for Utah's pollinators. Whether you logged your bumble bees and butterflies in iNaturalist or got your hands dirty at a planting day, your contributions make a huge impact for the pollinators that we love.
In 2025, the UPP community:
Logged over 16,000 observations in the Utah Pollinator Pursuit iNaturalist project,
Planted 1,900 native seedlings from the Utah Pollinator Habitat Program to improve pollinator habitat near Great Salt Lake,
Shared the love of pollinators at our Pollinator Pride Party and Bug Club meetups,
Distributed 900 free milkweed seedlings to individuals across the state that will benefit monarch butterflies.
This is all possible because of our dedicated partners, passionate volunteers, generous donors, and hardworking staff. Thank you so much for showing up for pollinators!
Will you help us make iNat IDs?
Of the 16,000 pollinator observations logged this year, half of those still need additional identification to reach "research grade" status (meaning that the observation can be used for science and conservation.)
Will you help us get these observations ID'd? Join Utah Pollinator Pursuit, the Utah Native Plant Society, and the Natural History Museum of Utah on Saturday, December 20th for an iNaturalist ID workshop!
2025 Utah Pollinator Pursuit Volunteer of the Year
We are thrilled to introduce an incredible member of our community, and our 2025 Utah Pollinator Pursuit Volunteer of the Year, Parker Lloyd!
Parker has logged an impressive number of pollinator observations this year (over 1,500!) and in his role with the Tracy Aviary & the Utah Native Plant Society, he invites and inspires others into the admiration of Utah's native plants & the pollinators that rely on them. Get to know Parker and our other 2025 honorees in our latest blog!
How can we make 2026 even better?
Whether you logged observations and made IDs in the Utah Pollinator Pursuit iNaturalist project, planted with us, or made connections at a Bug Club meetup this summer, we would love your feedback!
Will you take 2-5 minutes to complete our end-of-season survey to let us know how we can do better next year?
Support Conservation into the Future
Thanks to a generous $25,000 matching gift, all donations are matched dollar-for-dollar through December 31st!
Will you join us in envisioning a future where pollinators and human communities thrive together?
You can also support our work by shopping our merch, following along on social media, or passing this email along to a fellow pollinator enthusiast. Thank you for your support!
Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions, otherwise we look forward to connecting with you again in the spring.
