Riverscape Season is Underway!
September brings us brisk mornings and warm afternoons, and we couldn't imagine a better time to enjoy working in Utah's streams. We're still looking for volunteers to join us on weekdays and weekends through October, and we have 15+ opportunities this month to join us in the field!
Register at the links below, and see the full list of volunteer dates on our website.
If you'd like to plan a group volunteer day, or have questions about partnerships, please reach out to Rose Smith and Jens Ammon to coordinate.

Summer 2024 with a Riverscape Intern
Have you ever wondered what it's like to work with Sageland Collaborative? We invite you to dive into our latest blog that highlights Danielle Terry's experience as a Summer 2024 Riverscape Restoration Intern!
"This was both an extremely challenging and rewarding summer. The hot, tiring days made the days with shady streams all the more rewarding. I see the impact that Sageland and the riverscape team have on the community around us through our interactions with agency partners, landowners, and volunteers. People are excited about what we are doing! And, I hope that the passion Sageland Collaborative imbues in others can continue to grow in the coming years."
Meet the Stream Team:
Sageland Collaborative Project Leads
Rose Smith
Stream Ecologist
"The Riverscape Restoration program is best known for involving the community in restoration, but there is so much 'behind the scenes' year-round work by Sageland staff, partners and volunteers. We contribute to the broader knowledge base of low-tech restoration through our monitoring efforts, research papers, and contributions to regional working groups. My role involves ensuring that this program continues to meet our lofty goals each year."
Jens Ammon
Riverscape Project Manager
"My role in the Riverscape Restoration program is to get our projects into the river. Before we can build beaver dam analogs with our awesome volunteers, there is a lot of planning, permitting, mapping, and monitoring work that must be done beforehand. Fall is my favorite time of year because not only is it cozy sweater season, but it's also when all of our work culminates into real-world improvements to our land."
Thank You
Our ambitious goals for wildlife and land conservation are only possible through the contributions of our volunteers, partners, and donors - thank you!
If you're unable to join us in the field this season, you can support our work by making a gift, following us on social media, or forwarding this email to friends & family who might be interested.
