Webinar Training Information - 2020
First, we want to acknowledge that this is an uncertain time, especially for those among us who are affected by illness or working in certain industries. We are grateful for you. We hope you and your loved ones are safe and well.
As COVID-19 continues to affect our communities, we're working to keep our staff and volunteers healthy and stop the spread of the virus. We've updated our Wasatch Wildlife Watch training and processes to follow social distancing recommendations from the Center for Disease Control.
Because it can be done safely, the project is still happening—things will just look a little different this year than they have in the past.

Community Scientist Training Webinar
Our camera assignments have been made, and we’re excited to have you as part of this project! Our camera-trapping training day is scheduled for the same day next month; however, it will be a webinar rather than the previously scheduled in-person training. We'll plan on plenty of time for Q&A, so feel free to bring any questions to the webinar.
When: April 18, 2020, 9am–1pm at the latest, with breaks
Where: An online video conference (the link will be sent to volunteers who have been assigned a camera)
Additionally, we'll be sending training videos that we recommend participants watch before the webinar. These will also be available for folks who are unable to attend the training.
Project Materials
To maintain social distancing and minimize physical contact, we'll send community scientists a sign-up sheet with 10-minute time slots to pick up cameras and other project materials from our office.
If you are unable to leave your home, please contact us and we can make other arrangements.
Thank You
Thank you so much for your passion for wildlife in the Wasatch. We could not maintain a wildlife project at this landscape-level scale—especially during such an uncertain time—without the power of our dedicated community scientists!
Visit the project page on our website for resources and updates. Please don't hesitate to contact us with questions.
Additionally, if you missed the deadline for becoming a field volunteer, it’s not too late to participate in this project! Simply sign up to receive information on analyzing wildlife image data.
