Meet our June Volunteer of the Month, Quinn Marcroft.

Quinn came across one of our projects while hiking and dove in then and there! In addition to our project work, she has also gone the extra mile to adopt multiple sites as a habitat steward.

How did you first start volunteering with Sageland Collaborative?

I first got involved with Sageland cooperative by chance. I was hiking and saw people planting trees, so I decided to join them. From there, I got involved with the Boreal Toad Conservation Project and Utah Water Watch.

What drives your desire to support wildlife conservation?

I want to support wildlife conservation because nature has been so healing for me, and I want to give back. Whenever I’m having a hard day, I try to get out, and the outdoors helps me feel better.

What do you love most about the wildlife and lands around you in the West?

The thing I love most about the wildlife around me is the excitement of seeing each animal. I love seeing wildlife, and am always eager to observe.

Any stories you'd like to share with our community from volunteering?

When we planted trees, I had the opportunity to observe each plant growing. Since then, there has been so much growth. It makes me happy.

What would you say to people thinking about volunteering or donating?

Volunteering is very rewarding. It gives you the opportunity to care for something beautiful. It helps me feel like I’m making a positive impact in the world.
