Other Species Seen on the Rosy-Finch Project

Hello Team Rosy-Finch,

We are now in the second week of this three-week survey window. You have through Saturday, February 29, 2020 to submit the results of your second survey.

We're thrilled by what we're hearing from our community scientists who have been out in the field. In addition to the black rosy-finch, we're seeing all kinds of neat bird species, including:

  • Pine Grosbeak

  • Mountain Chickadee

  • Steller's Jay

  • Red-Breasted Nuthatch

We love hearing about what you're seeing! Feel free to share any photos, experiences, and questions you have as you're completing the surveys.

Missed the first survey window, but still want to help us collect data? We welcome you to participate by doing "Opportunistic Surveys" following the methods outlined in the Count Guide.

The training presentation is still online for volunteers who want to brush up on the methods or learn how to do Opportunistic Surveys. To get caught up, watch the online training, read the Guide Book, and join us in our efforts to conserve the Black Rosy-finch!

Remember to send your completed datasheets to Janice by text (just snap a photo of the datasheet with your smartphone), email, or postal service at:
