Another toad season has flown by, and we cannot thank you enough for joining us again this year to search for these elusive toads across Utah's high alpine meadows and streams!
The data that you help us collect is shared with our state partners, and allows them to prioritize habitat management and conservation efforts. Thank you for being part of this important work!

Boreal Toads in the News
Our project partners at Utah Division of Wildlife Resources are building a fence in the Manti La-Sal mountain range to protect a population of boreal toads.
Utah Public Radio's Caroline Long spoke with UDWR's Tyler Arnold about boreal toads, and why this fence is important.
Boreal Toads Across the West
Utah is not the only home to this special species - they're found at high elevations across the West, and states like Colorado are also seeing population declines.
This article highlights the work being done by our Colorado counterparts to slow the spread of chytrid fungus and to bolster boreal toad populations.

Our September Volunteer of the Month is Jenny Makosky! Jenny monitors an independent site as part of the Boreal Toad Project, documenting these species as well as potential amphibian habitats in Utah.
Not only does Jenny get out on this project, but she also brings her children to spark the next generation of amphibian conservationists. A big thank you to Jenny and her amazing young conservationists!
