Nearing the End of Toad Season!

We would just like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us this season for a guided day survey or overnight camping trip! Your passion for boreal toads inspires us in our work to conserve these incredible species.

If you didn't get a chance to join us, don't fret! The toads are still toad-ing, and we're relying on volunteers like you to get out and tell us what you're seeing! There are still opportunities to document toads and other amphibians through Opportunistic Surveys and Independent Monitoring Sites! Visit the Sign Up form to see which sites we're particularly interested in.

Volunteers will be removing cattail and bulrush to create open water and basking habitat and will have the opportunity to learn about and potentially observe these species through education shared by Utah Hogle Zoo's Conservation Team.

Volunteer Highlight:
Katie Figueroa

We are thrilled to share that our August Volunteer of the Month is Katie Figueroa! Katie is new to the Boreal Toad Project this year and has joined us for multiple surveys this season, documenting toads and amphibian habitat.

Katie shares this about her volunteer experience: "I love that I can contribute to something that matters. Not many people know that little actions like volunteering can go a long way, especially with amazing projects like this one!"

Get to know Katie in our full interview with her linked below!
