Spring invites us outdoors year after year, offering fresh opportunities to get outside, connect with nature, and come together as a community. In our 30th year, the magic of spring has been stronger than ever.
Over the past few months, our community has shown up with force for wildlife and landscapes, surveying for amphibians and shorebirds, mapping and removing outdated fencing, and learning about best practices from land managers and restoration professionals.

We're looking to add members to our Board of Directors! Our Board is made up of volunteers who are passionate about wildlife conservation and follow our Mission and Vision Statements to guide the future of this work. Board members serve two-year terms and commit to four Board meetings and four committee meetings per year.
Specifically, we’re seeking current volunteers or partners who have experience in community engagement, human resources, or non-profit governance.

Celebrating Brad Parry and the Wuda Ogwa Project
We're excited to celebrate Brad Parry, Vice Chairman for the Northwestern Band of the Shoshone Nation, who was recently awarded the 2026 Schnitzer Prize of the West, for his leadership and collaborative spirit in transforming the site of the 1863 Bear River Massacre in Preston, Idaho, into a place of ecological and cultural healing.
You can get involved with the Northwestern Tribe of the Shoshone Nation at the Wuda Ogwa restoration site by joining an upcoming volunteer day!

We are thrilled to introduce our 2026 Sci-Art Cohort! Throughout the summer, these artists will be exploring the intersection of science and art through pieces inspired by our Great Salt Lake & Shorebirds program.
Save the date! On July 23, 2026, we’ll be hosting these artists at the Sci-Art Gallery Reception where their artworks will be on display at the Sorenson Unity Center. More details to come!
