Here's to a New Year for Conservation

Dear Friend,
Thank you for your support of conservation in 2020. Despite the challenges we've faced collectively this year, we've still seen inspiring progress for the habitats and wildlife we love most. This is only possible because of your dedication.
Whether you've donated, volunteered, or shared our work, you've had a huge impact on wildlife in the West. Just some of the successes we've seen include increasing numbers of conservation volunteers, expanding project borders, and formerly degraded habitats healed enough to support wildlife.
Volunteers build a beaver dam-like structure to restore a degraded western stream. Thanks to this important work, beavers were re-established on two streams this season. The beavers will continue the restoration work these volunteers started, improving habitat for all kinds of wildlife.
As we continue to work hard to provide the best science in service of wildlife and wildlands, we need your help. If you're able, please make your tax-deductible year-end contribution to allow our work to continue. Thank you so much for your generosity.
Our organization itself has also made important progress. In response to the #ShutDownSTEM movement in June 2020, our team met virtually to discuss our engagement with diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). We each felt strongly that we needed to deepen our personal and organizational commitment to fostering an inclusive culture and making the conservation science community more successful.
As we mentioned in a newsletter earlier this year, we're holding ourselves accountable for creating this change. Our 2020 DEI Report Card outlines our goals, progress, and needs from the year. We'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions.
Thank You
