Getting Powder with Rosy-Finches, a Baby Beaver, and More!
Our Rosy-Finch Project season has officially begun! Our volunteers are searching the skies for dashes of pink in support of conservation.

The Rosy-finch is an alpine species that, like many of you, loves a good powder day. As one of the least-studied birds in North America, the species is vulnerable to approaching threats like climate change.
To conserve any species, it's crucial to first understand population health, migratory patterns, and preferred habitat. Thanks to you, our dedicated community scientists and donors, we're working to answer these questions to support future conservation planning.
Volunteers on this project conduct 20-minute rosy-finch counts once a month from December-April, either at publicly accessible bird feeders (like the ski resort at left) or at backyard feeders. Volunteers range across Western states and include everyone from birders to skiers to backyard wildlife lovers.
It's not too late to join. Visit our website to learn how!
End-of-Season Volunteer Survey

Thank you for all you do for wildlife and lands. If you volunteered on a 2021 project, will you take our end-of-season survey?
Your response helps us understand the experience, perspectives, and needs of our volunteers and plan for next year. You'll also be entered in a drawing for an outdoor-focused prize!
We Spy...a Baby Beaver!
Our stream restoration work continues to prove successful! Check out these beavers spotted by Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter's wildlife camera in East Canyon Creek. Can you find the youngster?

The presence of this beaver family at this site is a direct result of our restoration work. Whether through joining our stream program this year or donating, your support made this possible and will continue to do so in coming years.Thank you!

2021 Stream Volunteer of the Year
Meet our 2021 Stream Volunteer of the Year, Brian Pham!
He says, "For me, this project is a project of optimism. It recognizes just how much we've damaged these ecosystems, and then it takes that awareness and turns it into a message of hope - that together we can come together to tackle these problems."
Postponed: Finding Healing Through Collaborative Restoration
